Chartrange was appointed by Morgan Sindall to deliver the externals package at the Manchester City Council Depot on Hammerstone Road, Gorton with a value of £2.5M. The project formed part of the Council’s wider initiative to modernise and future-proof their depot facilities and site infrastructure.
Rochdale Road is a prestigious development located on the edge of Manchester City Centre. The development will provide 237 units in total, incorporating a mix of apartments and duplex townhouses, housed within three new buildings.

The Centre will enable the University’s robotics and automation specialists to expand their work with SMEs around the country to provide solution development, design, testing and validation of digital innovation. Disciplines covered by the development will include the dynamic and growing sectors of robotics for intelligent infrastructure, digital automation and supply chain improvement, as well as health, wellbeing and integrated care technologies.
Wirral Growth is an upcoming ambitious development located in Birkenhead. The 15-year development scheme will ultimately comprise of over 1.5 million square feet of floorspace, both commercial and residential, across ten plots.
Chartrange were delighted to be the first contractor appointed on the scheme, delivering the earthworks and drainage diversion package.
Chartrange were appointed on this new education scheme by Morgan Sindall to deliver the bulk excavation, groundworks and hard landscaping works for Salford University.
The SEE Building forms part of the Salford Crescent and University District wider masterplan, which stretches over 240 acres and includes the University’s existing campus and areas around Adelphi Street, the Crescent, Peel Park and Frederic Road.
The four-storey, 15,550 square metre SEE Building will incorporate high sustainability credentials, a key element of the University’s pledge to reduce the environmental impact. It will be fully electric powered, supported by 154 roof mounted photovoltaic panels which will provide renewable energy.
Chartrange were appointed by Bowmer and Kirkland to undertake both groundworks and externals packages on Energy House 2, a research facility designed to test the energy efficiency of homes in different weather conditions. The 11,300 square feet facility is operated by Salford University.
The centre will be able to create snow, rain, wind or solar exposure in two giant chambers and record the impact that different weather conditions have on the four furnished test homes contained within the chambers.
Temperatures can be plunged to -20°C and raised to 40°C, meaning environmental conditions experienced by 95% of the world’s population can be replicated.
Chartrange were appointed by Willmott Dixon in October 2021 by Willmott Dixon to carry out remediation works to Stockport Bus Station. The site has been earmarked for development by Transport for Greater Manchester to serve as the all new Stockport Interchange.
The transport interchange will feature an innovative two-acre rooftop park which will improve leisure and recreation opportunities in the town centre and create more green space for everyone to enjoy. The park is expected to encourage wildlife and biodiversity as well as provide a safe environment for people to meet and relax.
Beneath the unique rooftop park, there will be a fully accessible, covered passenger concourse in the interchange with seated waiting areas, cycle storage facilities and 20 bus stands, providing capacity for future growth in bus services.
Working alongside our client Morgan Sindall, we were appointed in March 2020 to carry out a full multi-disciplined Enabling works package. Our scope of works included delivering a fully remediated site, providing the necessary factual verification reports of the works completed. Deep drainage, including a 7m deep connection into a live sewer and in-situ construction of a concrete retaining wall along an existing river bank.
This scheme of 17 spacious four-bedroom bespoke homes in the desirable suburb of Prestwich is being developed on parcel of land formerly belonging to Prestwich Golf Club. Chartrange has been awarded the remediation, roads and sewers and groundwork’s packages.
The proposed scheme compromises a development platform for the construction of 68 units planned for the 4.4 acre site. Chartrange has been awarded the demolition, earthworks and gabion wall packages by developer, Countryside Properties.
Chartrange have been appointed as Principal Contractor by Countryside Properties to undertake and supervise the demolition, remediation and earthworks in order to prepare for a new housing development which is utilising brownfield derelict land in order to meet local government housing targets. The site will ultimately deliver 127 properties, inclusive of the all associated roads, sewers and utility services alongside an element of section 278 works.
Working alongside our client VINCI , we have been appointed for the groundworks, hard landscaping and externals packages on this new scheme. The new bus interchange will ultimately enhance connectivity between different modes of transport and provide a substantial upgrade in current facilities. By improving access to jobs, learning and leisure, the new interchange will support Vision Tameside – building greater economic prosperity and transforming learning and skills
